Emilia Romagna lies between the River Po and the Apennine Mountains. Its magnificent, mainly medieval, castles and fortresses are considered to be some of the most beautiful and best preserved in Italy. Belgium is home to some of Europe's best preserved old trains and along with a boat cruise and gardens visit you will see some of the best scenery the Belgian Ardennes has to offer. Namur is the capital of Wallonia and the gateway to the Belgian Ardennes. The grand city of Bordeaux, world capital of wine, is now a Unesco World Heritage site. Lively squares and sumptuous townhouses are just a few of the sites you will encounter. The city is surrounded by France's largest area of vineyards of fine wines.

The soil and temperature in Spain's Penedes region produces some excellent wines and cavas, many of which are now household-name brands in the UK, such as Torres, Freixenet and Codorniu.
