Oxford, guided walk and Christ Church College.
Oxford is 'the city of dreaming spires' and famous the world over for its university and place in history. You will discover the colleges that make up the university including a visit to Christ Church College. Amongst a long list of famous members and students of the college was Lewis Carroll, the author of 'Alice in Wonderland'. Visit the great hall, quadrangles, the cathedral and grand staircase to discover the inspiration for this famous children's story. Christ Church was also the setting for 'Hogwarts' in the Harry Potter films. This afternoon, you may wish to visit the University of Oxford Botanical Garden, the oldest botanic garden in the UK displaying over 7,000 different species in a Grade I listed garden.
Blenheim Palace and Cotswold villages.
Today you will venture further into the Oxfordshire Cotswolds, visiting Blenheim Palace, home to the 11th Duke of Marlborough and the birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill. Created a World Heritage Site in 1987, the 2,100 acres of beautiful parkland were landscaped by 'Capability' Brown, and the exquisite Baroque Palace is surrounded by sweeping lawns, formal garden and a magnificent lake.
