On this tour combine the Principality of Andorra, renowned for its striking mountain scenery and countless stunning views, as well as its duty free shopping, with a visit to Pamplona, the capital of Navarra in northern Spain, which is famous world-wide for its annual bull-running festival, held every year in July.

Day 1

Depart UK.

Take the overnight ferry to Spain with time to enjoy all the on-board facilities.

Day 2

Arrive at resort.

Arrive in Santander and drive on to Andorra for a 3 night stay. (435 miles).

Andorra and its people.

We start with a guided scenic tour through green valleys and parishes to see the highlights of the Principality to find out about the country's history, customs and traditions - we include some great photo opportunities. After lunch, there will be plenty of time to indulge in some duty-free shopping bargains in the capital of Andorra La Vella.

 

Val de Nuria.

A scenic drive through the French and Spanish 'Serdanya' valley to the little town of Ribes de Freser where you can take an optional ride on the rack railway up to a height of 6,500 feet. (116 miles).

 

Spanish Market (Tuesday or Saturday)

Experience a typical Spanish farmers' market in La Seu d'Urgell where fresh produce such as meat, cheese, snails, mushrooms, olives, fruit and vegetables are sold. Or you can visit the 11th century cathedral of Santa Maria. (48 miles).

 

Meritxell Shrine and Engolasters Lake.

Drive to Meritxell to see the remains of the shrine dating from 1658, partly destroyed by fire. Carry on to the only lake in Andorra with vehicle access where you can enjoy a pleasant stroll to take in the views. (14 miles).

Day 5

Return to Pamplona.

Bid farewell to Andorra and head back to Pamplona for a 3 night stay. (307 miles).

La Rioja tour and wine tasting.

This famous wine region offers lush vineyards and typical bodegas. (106 miles).

 

San Sebastian.

An elegant, lively coastal town with excellent beaches and delicious tapas bars. (102 miles).

 

Bilbao.

Bilbao has undergone a significant facelift recently and the innovative Guggenheim museum is one of the city's highlights, as is the old quarter with its Gothic Cathedral. (192 miles).

 

Monasteries.

Dating back to the 6th century, the Suso and Yuso Monasteries in San Millan de la Cogolla are now designated as a World Heritage Centre. (160 miles).

 

The Pyrenees.

See the splendour of this dramatic mountain range with a drive through the village of Elizondo, into France and the charming town of St. Jean Pied de Port and down into the historic Roncevalles pass. (96 miles).

Day 8

Return ferry.

Drive to Santander to catch the ferry home. (157 miles).

Day 9

Arrive UK.

Arrive back in UK for journey home.
