Greatdays raises £7,000 for Age UK
Altrincham-based tour wholesaler Greatdays Travel Group has raised £7,144 for charity Age UK.
The money was raised for Age UK through charity raffles held at more than 50 events during 2016. These included Greatdays’ programme of exclusive summer Music Hall and Christmas-themed ‘Entertainment Lunch Shows. In 2016 more than 6,000 people attended the events, held in 4-star hotels across the country. Greatdays staff boosted the figure with a number of fundraising initiatives at the Head Office in Altrincham.
Ann-Marie Jones, chief executive of Age UK Trafford, says “I’d like to thank Greatdays for its tremendous support for Age UK. The money will go towards delivering the many services we offer to older people in need of our care”
Managing director of Greatdays Travel Group, Andy Beard, says: “Each year we choose a different charity. In 2016 we chose Age UK, an organisation dedicated to helping everyone make the most of later life. We hold a charity raffle at each of our entertainment lunch shows. Throughout the year we hold many different events at our offices where staff can pay a contribution towards the charity in exchange for dressing up, or sampling exotic food that other staff members have contributed. ”
During 2017, Greatdays will be raising money for The Guide Dogs for the Blind Association.
