Fun at Oswaldtwistle Mills!

This week the Day Trips department, Jenny and Louise, along with our new Sales colleague Chris were invited to an entertainment lunch at Oswaldtwistle Mills in Lancashire.

Although we had to battle through the temporary roadworks nearby to get to the Mill, on arrival we parked and were greeted warmly by Barbara Banks the groups coordinator.  The entertainment lunch was being held in a ground floor coffee shop and was well attended by ladies groups and other social clubs.  The popular entertainer sang a variety of hits from the 50’s and 60’s and kept his audience amused with his cheeky humour and anecdotes. Barbara was on hand to make sure all her guests were well looked after.

Lunch was delicious and served promptly and there was a licensed bar for those who were lucky enough not to be driving home.  After lunch there was an hour’s break to explore the shopping complex, there were a large variety of concessions to choose from, offering ladies and gents clothing, bedding, furniture, gifts and books amongst many other things.  A new mezzanine floor offers a modern coffee shop with more ladies clothing to browse and outside there is a large garden centre for the keen gardener to enjoy.

It was a very enjoyable visit and recommended for groups who wish to spend the day under one roof.  Judging by the number of shopping bags, a great day out was had by all.  Thanks to Barbara, Martin (the entertainer) and all the staff for a lovely afternoon!   We liked it so much we are looking at putting it in a day trip itinerary for 2017.  Watch this space…
