Larking around in the Lakes

Katharine and Sarah from the UK team travelled north this week to the Lake District. The rain could not dampen our spirits as we called in at Newby Bridge, Lakeside, Ambleside, Grasmere, Kendal and Burness on Windemere. We rested our heads in style at Cumbria Grand and Shap Wells hotels, two firm favourites of Greatdays. We were so impressed with the wealth and variety of accommodation on offer, from the variety of South Lakes hotel group to the sublime Laura Ashley hotel, The Belsfield. After, we visited Cornishead Priory, home to Manjushri Kadampa Buddist Meditation Centre, where we learnt about this ancient religion, and met Alice the alpaca at The Alpaca Centre. Both attractions are available to groups and can be added to enrich our existing Lake District itineraries.
