On 30th June we launched 4 departure dates to the world-famous Oberammergau Passion Plays, taking place in 2020. The Plays depict the final period of Jesus’ life, also known as the Passion. They were first performed in 1634 by the inhabitants of the German village of Oberammergau as display of their gratitude for escaping the horrors of the Plague. It has since become a hugely popular tradition. The play is performed in village every 10 years, therefore, drawing crowds from across the world, and returns in 2020.
We are currently offering two tours to experience the incredible 2020 Passion Play.
Our 5-day Munich and Oberammergau tour features 3 departure dates: 30th May, 13th June and also the 5th September 2020. Spend the first 2 nights in Munich, with a guided tour of the beautiful Bavarian capital and also free time. Furthermore, the next 2 nights will be spent in the Oberammergau area, where you will have the morning at leisure to explore the village, with its traditional Bavarian atmosphere, and enjoying the unforgettable Passion Play in the afternoon and evening.
The Austrian Tyrol and Oberammergau tour lasts for 8 days, departing on 5th July 2020. The first night will be spent in Munich, while the second and third night will be in Oberammergau to experience the Passion Play. In addition, we head to Austria next, for 4 nights in Alpine state of Tyrol. A full-day excursion to Innsbruck with its pastel-coloured architecture and stunning scenery, a visit to the Swarovski Crystal World, a full-day excursion to German and also Austrian Lake Constance and free time to explore complete the tour to Austria..
