Meet your guide at Woodbridge

Aldeburgh

Aldeburgh is a truly wonderful place to visit. There’s so much to see and explore! Admire the ‘Scallop’, a sculpture created by Suffolk artist Maggi Hambling, dedicated to Benjamin Britten. On to Thorpeness, with its ‘House in the Clouds’ until we arrive at the ‘lost city’ of Dunwich for our lunchtime stop. Dunwich was the capital of the Kingdom of the East Angles in the Anglo-Saxon period, so it is a fascinating place. It is often described as ‘England’s Atlantis’ due to the large amount of buildings which now rest under the murky waters here.

Lunch at Flora’s Tea Rooms at Dunwich Beach

Enjoy a two-course lunch at the tea room on the beach. The café is famous for its delicious fish and chips, so you will not be disappointed! Lunch will be followed by tea and coffee before you head off on the next part of your journey.

Tales Tour: The Heritage Coast

Enjoy a very picturesque drive along the coast road on your way to your final destination. Your guide will tell you a little of the history of this area whilst you enjoy the scenery. All from the comfort of your own coach.

Southwold

We end the day at the charming small fishing port of Southwold, where you have free time to take a turn on the pier, stroll through the town or visit the famous Adnams Brewery Shop. There is a working lighthouse as well as lovely beach huts on the beach and a set of stocks on Bartholomew’s Green! There are plenty of nice cafés in which to have afternoon tea, including a lovely café on the pier.
