Bern, the capital city of Switzerland

Built around a crook in the Aare River, the city’s origins date back to the 12th century, of which can be seen with the medieval architecture preserved in the Altstadt (Old Town). The medieval air of this city with its many fountains, sandstone facades, narrow streets and historic towers is unique. The elevated Rose Garden above the Bear Park and the platform of the 101-metre-high cathedral tower offer the best views of the old town. Bern is the seat of Switzerland’s government. The Houses of Parliament (Bundeshaus) rise above the city just a stone’s throw away from the railway station.

The Swiss Pass Experience; See the beauty of Switzerland by train

From Bern, it is possible to reach some of the remotest corners of Switzerland by train within the space of a day. These could include the cities of Zurich, Geneva, Lausanne, Lucern or Basel and the resorts of Interlaken, Gstaad or Zermatt amongst others. Discover at your leisure and be sure to make the most this incredible opportunity.

Neuchâtel; the  junction of the Three Lakes and Jura Region

Neuchâtel, called Neuenburg in German, has a rich cultural and architectural past. The Castle and the Collegiate Church (built in the Gothic style in the Middle Ages, a Reformed Church), which can both be seen from afar, are the city’s landmarks. The medieval core of the town and the castle date back to the 12th century lend Neuenburg its characteristic charm.
