A Cosy Yuletide Escape to the Black Forest
One of Germany’s most varied holiday destinations, the Black Forest is a wonderful place to relax at Christmas. The region boasts gentle valleys, waterfalls, spectacular gorges and mountains densely covered with fir and spruce. Known for its timber farmhouses, traditional local costume, cuckoo clocks and, of course, Gâteau, the Schwarzwald offers plenty to see and do.

On Christmas eve, the final window of the nearby Gengenbach’s advent calendar will be opened, leaving the town hall aglow. The Black Forest is also a great base for trips further afield to the Rhine, Switzerland or France. Why not visit the scenic city of Strasbourg, with its renowned Cathedral, Astronomical Clock and scenic waterways?
With beautiful landscape and charming towns aplenty, the Black Forest will fill you with festive spirit. Celebrate Christmas in this fairytale setting!
