Greenwich is home to a World Heritage Site, Cutty Sark, The O2 arena, Britain’s only urban cable car, London’s prettiest royal park and the Prime Meridian of the World – longitude zero. Explore the wonders of this riverside destination and discover the Royal Observatory and the Cutty Sark.
You will visit the Royal Observatory Greenwich and stand on the world-famous Meridian Line with one foot in the west and one foot in the east.
The tour includes an audio guide, where you can learn about the discoveries of great scientists and inventors based at or associated with the Royal Observatory. Explore how great scientists first mapped the seas and the stars in Charles II’s magnificent Christopher Wren-designed Octagon Room – dating from 1675. Marvel at the Great Equatorial Telescope, the UK’s largest historic telescope which gave astronomers new views of the universe over 100 years ago. From the Royal Observatory, you will enjoy one of the most loved views of London across Greenwich Royal Park and the river Thames.
Built in 1869 to carry tea back from China, Cutty Sark visited nearly every major port in the world and gained fame for its record-breaking passages. Delve into the adventures of this iconic ship and meet the colourful cast of characters on board the ship who tell their story of what life was like on board.
We have combined this tour with the Doubletree by Hilton Hotel Greenwich – a 4 star hotel within walking distance of the town centre.

Travel to Greenwich
Travel to Greenwich and your first stop will be at the Cutty Sark, the fastest ship of her age and last surviving tea clipper. The ship has been raised over three metres allowing you to walking directly underneath and touch the original hull planks and iron framework.
We can arrange for refreshments to be served in the cafe underneath the hull (please contact us for details and prices).
After your visit continue to your hotel – the Doubletree by Hilton, Greenwich which is at the top of Greenwich High Street.
After checking in the rest of the evening is at your leisure. We can arrange a dinner in the hotel or alternatively, you can walk into the town centre in around 10 minutes (or there is a regular bus service) which takes a few minutes, where you will find a good selection of restaurants and pubs.
Royal Observatory and National Maritime Museum
Drive to Greenwich and begin your day at the Royal Observatory where you can stand astride the world-famous Meridian Line. Alongside the Royal Observatory is London’s only planetarium, providing an introduction to the wonders of the night sky. Visit the Queen’s House famous for its art, architecture and royal history and discover paintings by some of Britain’s greatest masters including Turner, Gainsborough and Stubbs. Next stop is the National Maritime Museum, where you can explore Britain’s momentous naval history including the ‘Nelson, Navy, Nation’ gallery.
There is an optional 2-course lunch in Greenwich before leaving.
