Italy's Hidden and Not So Hidden Gems

Uncover the history and culture of one of Italy’s Hidden Gems; Friuli Venezia Giulia. Friuli Venezia Giulia is in the North East of Italy, off the beaten track, set amongst the peaks of the Julian Alps and Dolomites, the waves of the Adriatic Sea and the vineyards of Collio hills. The region offers charming ancient hamlets, big and small art cities where you will be able to follow in the footsteps of ancient Romans and Venetians. The region also offers wild nature with natural parks, rivers and lagoons and gastronomic experiences, with excellent white wines and traditional local specialities, like the Prosciutto di San Daniele. On this tour discover all this as well as the famous Prosecco-making region of Conegliano-Valdobbiadene.

We will make your journey, one to remember

On your way to and from Friuli, see some more great destinations like Milan, Verona and Sirmione, Lake Garda, with time to explore each one. Why not visit in February?  This means you will avoid many of the crowds in most of these cities and as winter becomes spring, the crisp mountain air flows down from the Alps and the Dolomites, bringing a fresh new lease of life into the new year. However, there’s another perk to visiting in February… Carnival in Venice. The serene canals and streets of Venice erupt with colour and pizzazz. With your hotel located in Pasiano di Pordenone, it is only 40 mins from Venice, giving you easy access to the water city where you can spend a full day revelling in the festival atmosphere that engulfs the city.

From the mountains to the sea, you can find alternative itineraries to explore the Friuli Venezia Giulia region here.
