The Priory, Lancaster

After your guide for the day, enjoy morning tea or coffee at The Priory Coffee Shop at St Mary’s Church. Take a gentle guided tour of the Priory following your morning refreshments. The current building stands inside the lines of Roman fortifications and hosts some fascinating Misericords, the small shelf under the folding seat in a church.

Lunch at the Borough Lancaster

After a morning spent in the historic surroundings of Lancaster city centre enjoy a two-course lunch followed by tea and coffee in this beautiful Georgian building. (Please note restaurants accessible by stairs only.)

Tales Tour: The Pendle Witches

Throughout the tour you will listen to stories of the history of the area. There are unspoiled villages and fantastic views into the Forest of Bowland. You will travel along the route walked by the Pendle Witches to Lancaster Castle for their trial. Listen to tales of their dreadful journey from Pendle, incarceration and sad demise. We believe this tour to be one of the most unspoiled journeys in the whole of England visiting a wildly beautiful part of Lancashire.

The Hamlet of Scorton

There are some lovely hamlets and villages on the western edge of the Forest of Bowland in the area of the River Wyre and none more interesting than Scorton. These stone barns are full of rustic character and sell unusual gifts. They display their wares on traditional dressers and old style shelving. For sale outside is the largest collection of hardy herbaceous perennials in the North West.
