Meet your guide at Bank of England

All games of London Monopoly start with the Bank. In the heart of London is the Bank of England museum. Founded in 1694, the Bank of England is the central bank of the United Kingdom. Sometimes known as the ‘Old Lady’ of Threadneedle Street, the bank’s mission is to promote the good of the people of the United Kingdom by maintaining monetary and financial stability. Having been in existence for more than 300 years the Bank of England has, unsurprisingly, accumulated a considerable number of items associated with its history. Items from the Bank’s collections are displayed in its museum where they are used to illustrate the history of the institution and its role today at the centre of the UK economy.
