Gardens of North East Scotland – NEW TOUR
North East Scotland is home to some fascinating gardens. This tour will explore some of the lesser known properties and give you a glimpse of quieter parts of Scotland.
Visit Pitmedden garden, inspired by the 17th Century designs at the Palace of Holyroodhouse; wander through the beautiful gardens, before visiting Haddo House, an elegant Georgian mansion with a delightful terraced garden. Your tour will also take you to visit Castle Fraser Garden & Estate, one of the grandest in the area, before also visiting Leith Hall with extensive herbaceous borders. Drive to Forres and visit Brodie Castle, dating back to the 16th Century; with unique gardens and furthermore, a comprehensive daffodil collection.

Travel to Scotland with time to relax before dinner.
After breakfast, visit Pitmedden Garden, which was inspired by original 17th century designs at the Palace of Holyroodhouse. The immaculately designed gardens feature colourful planting and intricate designs laid out in four parterres in the lower terrace, one of which celebrates the coat-of-arms of Sir Alexander Seton, 1st Baronet of Pitmedden. In the afternoon, visit Haddo House, an elegant Georgian mansion which boasts a delightful terraced garden with summer bedding plants and a fountain, commemorative trees, and colourful herbaceous borders, as well as secluded glades and knolls.
Castle Fraser & Garden.
In the morning, visit Castle Fraser Garden & Estate, one of the grandest in the area, with its newly restored historic walled garden which features a wide variety of shrubs, flowers, fruit and vegetables. In the afternoon, you will visit Leith Hall, Garden and Estate, with its extensive herbaceous borders – one entirely of catmint, and a collection of alpines and primulas in the rock garden. You will enjoy the wonderful views from the Chinese ‘Moon Gate’ at the top of the garden.
Brodie Castle & Garden.
After breakfast, drive to Forres, and visit Brodie Castle, which dates from the 16th century. The grounds are famous for their unique and comprehensive daffodil collection. Great Lime and Beech trees mark out the remains of an extensive formal landscape in the French manner.
