Morning Coffee in Buxton

After meeting your local guide you will head into Buxton, the cultural capital of the Peak District. Your starting point will be at the Devonshire Dome for tea and coffee. The town is only a short walk away for anyone who feels the need of retail therapy or your guide will lead you on an interesting, relaxing half hour walk around the historic heart of Buxton.

Lunch at the Rutland Arms

A friendly welcome awaits you at this lovely country hotel which stands at the heart of Bakewell. The Rutland Arms lays claim to being the site where the world famous Bakewell pudding was invented, in the kitchens of the hotel itself. Enjoy a two-course lunch followed by tea and coffee.

Bakewell

There is more to Bakewell than just a pudding, as you will see. There are plenty of interesting and historic buildings to admire, as well as a host of independent shops. Down by the river, wildfowl roam freely and there is nothing more pleasant than a stroll along the river banks on a warm summer’s afternoon. You may like to pick up one of the famous Bakewell Puddings before boarding your coach.

Tales Tour: The Peaks

Your guide will take you on a delightful drive through The Peak District, an area of great natural diversity. It is split into the northern Dark Peak, where most of the moorland is found, and the southern White Peak, where most of the population lives. Often overshadowed by the more famous Lakes, the Peaks have some of the most beautiful scenery in the country. Also, there is plenty of history and folklore to keep you entertained on your scenic drive through this lovely landscape.
