Pickering 1940’s Wartime Weekend! – NEW TOUR WITH ENTERTAINMENT
Each October Pickering plays host to the ever popular Wartime Weekend. Experience WWII and 1940’s themed entertainment and events including living history showcases, period vehicle exhibitions and re-enactments. In addition there will be singing and dancing, parades and fashion shows. Once we have enjoyed the merriment in Pickering we return to our hotel for an evening. Here we will experience 1940’s inspired live entertainment, where our talented entertainers will perform famous songs from the era.

Travel to your hotel
If time allows why not visit Eden Camp, the large WWII related museum, set within the grounds of an original Prisoner of War camp. Here you can experience the sights, sounds and smells of wartime Britain. Arrive at your hotel with time to relax before a set 3 course dinner.
Pickering 1940s Wartime weekend with evening entertainment
Today we head to the Pickering Wartime Weekend which includes a full programme of WWII and 1940s themed entertainment and events. Attractions include live music, stalls, dancing, parades, 1940s food and drink, period markets and vehicle exhibitions. You may choose to embrace the theme and wear your finest 40s style gloves, hats, khaki or lace, or simply enjoy the event as a sightseer. Coach parking for the event is available at Eastgate Car Park.
This evening after a set 3 course dinner we take a nostalgic step back in time with musical entertainment inspired by the 1940s and wartime Britain. Sing along with our talented entertainers as they perform some of the favourites of the time such as songs by Vera Lynn, Gracie Fields and many others. Fancy dress is also optional this evening.

Situated just a short walk from the town centre, this modern hotel is set over two floors (only a limited accessible lift service) and has a restaurant and bar with lounge areas. Free Wi-Fi available throughout the hotel. The 103 well equipped bedrooms are with en-suite, some with bath and shower over others with shower only. There are tea and coffee making facilities; Flat-screen TV and Hairdryer. There are adapted rooms available on the first floor, however all rooms on the ground floor have a few steps to access them. The hotel has a large car park with ample space for coaches on site.
