On this new tour (based in Caernarfon or Llanberis) combine the unique experience that is the Italianate village of Portmeirion with the scenic splendour of Snowdonia.
A visit to the unique and memorable Portmeirion, and be one of the first to visit the enchanting and captivating Plas Cadnant Hidden Gardens. Having been restored to their former beauty over the last 22 years, the gardens are truly magical. There are also train rides on the Snowdon Mountain Railway, a unique journey up to highest mountain in Wales, and the Welsh Highland Railway. And also visits to Caernarfon and the National Trust’s Plas Newydd.

Plas Newydd and Plas Cadnant Hidden Gardens
Today we travel across the Menai Strait to the island of Anglesey. There’s time to discover the enchanting mansion and gardens of Plas Newydd, with spectacular views across the Straight to Snowdonia. In the afternoon we ‘find’ Plas Cadnant Hidden Gardens, a remarkable garden recently brought back to life.
Caernarfon, Llanberis Pass and Snowdon
A free morning to explore Caernarfon and its impressive castle, used for the investiture of the Prince of Wales, first in 1911, and again in 1969. In the afternoon we take a scenic journey across the majestic and unforgettable Llanberis Pass to Llanberis where we join the Snowdon Mountain Railway for a memorable train ride to the top of Wales’ highest mountain.
The Welsh Highland Railway and Portmeirion
We take the narrow gauge, steam-hauled Welsh Highland Railway for a 25-mile journey from Caernarfon to Porthmadog through the stunning Aberglaslyn Pass. On arrival in Porthmadog we rejoin our coach for the short journey to the unique and altogether magnificent Italianate village of Portmeirion. On our journey back to Caernarfon we stop at the Inigo Jones Slate Workshop where there’ll be time to buy locally-crafted gifts.

Situated around 10 minutes walk from the village of Llanberis, and just a short walk from the Terminal of the Snowdon Mountain Railway. There is entertainment at the hotel on some nights of the week.
