Travel to your hotel
Sit back and relax during your leisurely drive to the south coast. Enjoy an ‘ice-breaker’ welcome drink with your fellow travellers before your evening meal.
Poole Harbour Cruise and Bournemouth
Take a 70 minute cruise around Europe’s largest natural harbour, home to the town of Poole, the golden beaches of Sandbanks and Brownsea Island, home to wildlife and picturesque Brownsea Castle, built to protect against French invasions. Returning to Bournemouth, there’s free time to explore the town, the pier, the gardens and the seven miles of sandy beaches.
Scenic Drive through the New Forest
Today we take a scenic drive through the New Forest, famous for its unspoiled woods and marshlands, where wildlife such as horses and cows can be seen wandering freely. We call into the historic town of Lymington, a colourful ancient seaport with a rich maritime history. Next we head to the ‘capital’ of New Forest, Lyndhurst. Towering over the skyline is the pre-Raphaelite church of St Michael and All Angels where the grave of former Lyndhurst resident Alice Liddel, Lewis Carroll’s inspiration for Alice in Wonderland, can be found.
Round steam train ride from Swanage calling at Corfe Castle
Today we travel to Swanage for a round trip on the steam Railway. The seaside resort of Swanage is a popular holiday destination, retaining much of its original character. There’s also time to visit the delightful village of Corfe and its famous castle. Returning to Bournemouth we stop in Wareham, a picturesque market town where you can walk the Saxon walls and see the historic quay.
Saying farewell to your hosts this morning start your homeward journey with various comfort stops enroute.
