Snowdonia Spectacular
Experience North Wales’ enchanting national park with your group on this Snowdonia day trip with Greatdays travel. Marvel at the beautiful landscape as you travel between mountains and alongside glassy lakes. The perfect Snowdonia introduction for your group.
Meet your guide at the Bodelwyddyan Castle Hotel
This hotel is on the site of a historic 15th-century castle which is now owned by the National Trust. You will have an opportunity to get coffee before heading off on your tour towards Snowdonia. (Entrance to the castle is not included.)
Scenic Tour
Venture through the lush countryside towards Betws-y-Coed, the gateway to Snowdonia. There will be time to wander around independent shops selling crafts, clothing, gifts and local produce. A magical setting with a distinctly Alpine feel, enhanced by Gwydyr Forest surrounding the village with pines.
Lunch at the Waterloo Hotel
Enjoy a two-course lunch with tea and coffee at this well-situated hotel in the centre of Betws-y-Coed. After lunch, enjoy a scenic drive through the dramatic scenery of Snowdonia National Park.
The National Slate Museum
Our final visit is to the National Slate Museum in Llanberis at the foot of Mount Snowdon. North Wales’ slate is such good quality, it once ‘roofed the world.’ Experts will demonstrate how ‘wide ladies’ and ‘small duchesses’ measurements are made in slate and in addition to the demonstration, visit Fron Haul. A recapturing of significant periods from the slate industry with a row of quarrymen’s houses on the museum site. Strikes and suffering, craftsmanship and community: all the drama of real people’s lives.
