Based in the heart of Switzerland, explore the highlights of Switzerland in this whistle stop tour. Staying in Leissigen on the shores of the idyllic Lake Thun, the vista from your hotel is truly stunning. Furthermore, a short distance away, the town of Interlaken offers a mix of old timber houses and a high street full of designer shops, perfect for a stroll around. And to the west of the Lake is the town of Thun. Dominated by its impressive castle, Thun has a picturesque medieval old town with many splendid buildings and museums. From here, relax and enjoy cruise on the Lake to get you into the Swiss way of life.
Glistening Lakes and Soaring Mountains; The Gems of Switzerland
As well as this, travel across the spectacular Brunig Pass to Lucerne, to explore the Old Town. Scattered with covered bridges and bright sun-filled squares explore the fresco decorated historic houses. Also, stroll along the flower-lined promenade, simply basking in the charm of this lakeside paradise before taking the boat across the lake to Vitznau, where we board the Rigi Railway. At the top enjoy phenomenal views. There will also be a visit to the UNESCO World Heritage city of Bern with its medieval magic. This tour is an ideal introduction to Switzerland.

Suggested itinerary
Day 1-2
Travel to Switzerland
Take a short sea crossing to Calais and travel to south through France for an overnight stop before arriving in Switzerland on day 2.
If time permits, why not visit Interlaken, which sits on a narrow stretch of valley between the emerald waters of Lake Thun and Lake Brienz. The gateway to the Bernese Oberland, the town offers a mix of old timber houses and a high street of designer shops.
Day 3
Thun and Lake Cruise
This morning, we follow the shore of Lake Thun to visit its charming town. Dominated by its impressive castle, Thun has a picturesque medieval old town with many splendid buildings and museums. In the afternoon, enjoy a cruise on the lake.
Day 4
Beautiful Bern
Make the short journey to Bern, where you can enjoy an included two hour guided walking tour through the cobbled streets of the old town stopping to see the famous Bear Pits and the Bundeshaus. Incorporating the city’s landmarks as well as its secret corners and hidden treasures, providing both historical background and amusing anecdotes, Bern’s city tours are as diverse as the city itself. Afterwards, spend some time perusing the longest weather sheltered shopping promenade in Europe!
Day 5
Lucerne, Steam boat cruise and Rigi Railway
This morning travel across the spectacular Brunig Pass to Lucerne, a region renowned for its many spectacular lakes, cog railways and cable cars up to the surrounding mountains. Take a relaxing cruise on Lake Lucerne on a historic steamboat towards Vitznau, where we board the Rigi Railway. Enjoy phenomenal views as Europe’s first ever mountain rack railway twists and turns to the mountain’s summit.
Day 6-7
Return to the UK
It’s time to leave Switzerland behind us. We stop for an overnight in France on the way back before travelling to the UK on day 7.

The rooms come with free Wi-Fi, a TV and tea and coffee-making facilities. There is an Indian restaurant, a cosy bar and a cocktail lounge, plus a chocolate shop. There is offsite coach parking available for a small fee.
