Gina Halden, previously in the European Operations department has now joined the Greatdays Sales Team as Account Manager to look after our Coach & Tour Operator clients. Gina comes with a wealth of 'European Operations' knowledge and has worked at Greatdays for over 10 years.

Gina Halden, our new B2B Accounts Manager recently hosted a small familiarisation trip to Greatdays' exclusive Big Band weekend at the Hilton Hotel, Blackpool. After a sumptuous buffet dinner in the hotel restaurant, they enjoyed an evening of live music entertainment and dancing in the Queens Suite.

I was both delighted and privileged last week along with my wife to be given a, V.I.P. tour of West Midland Safari Park. Arranged by the lovely Sue Day and guided by one of their excellent VIP Guides Dave Higgins. We were given an insight into what goes on behind the scenes before the park opens to the general public, along with the opportunity to feed the Rhino's, Giraffes, Lemurs and best of all the Cheetahs.

National Sales Manager, Martin Slater and his colleague Claire Buckley attended the GTOA National AGM weekend at Norton Park, near Winchester last weekend, despite the awful weather conditions it was good to see so many making the effort to get to event.

Here we are attending our first travel trade show of 2013. The South West Group Travel show was held on Saturday 12th January at the Fleet Air Museum in Somerset.

The Sound of Music Christmas parties have finished and we are very sad to see them come to an end for another year. Great fun was had by all who attended and we are thoroughly looking forward to the Greatdays Music Hall in the summer as well as next year's Christmas parties, which have the glamorous theme of Puttin' On The Ritz.

The Day Trips department recently spent some time in Shropshire visiting some fantastic venues for the new 2013 day trips brochures. A new venue we are particularly excited about is Acton Scott Victorian Farm, where you can see some of the attractions that have featured in the BBC TV programme, such as the converted WWII vehicle parked in the car park, and enjoy morning refreshments.

Waking up in the middle of the night, looking outside my bedroom window, I was greeted by a cold, wet, dark morning. It would have been so easy to jump back in bed, but knowing we, that is David Shenton, my colleague and Alty were on our way to Berlin only enhanced the enthusiasm I felt, despite the dismal weather!!

The Day Trips Department spent a few sunny days on the south coast of England visiting some of the fantastic new venues we have in our 2013 South East Brochure. From lunch in a grand hotel on the seafront in Hastings to morning tea in a 1930's Pavilion in Bexhill on Sea; there are plenty of new and exciting venues for next year that we cannot wait to show you.

Alex Lockley and Martin Slater recently attended Silcox Motors 2013 brochure launch, held at Vintage Fair on Folly Farm in Pembrokeshire. Over 400 clients came for the evening which included a local entertainer who sang some songs to get the evening off to a good start, followed by the Tenby Male Voice Choir and a presentation from the Directors and staff of Silcox Motors.
