First, meet your guide and journey on to Frodsham, where you will enjoy coffee and biscuits in the Castle Park Art & Exhibition Centre and Coffee Shop before exploring the town. You can visit the excellent open-air market that was granted a Royal Charter in the 13th century. This market takes place every Thursday.

Set in the beautiful Cheshire countryside with a panoramic view across the Mersey Estuary, enjoy a two course carvery lunch followed by tea and coffee.
Tales Tour: The Appleton Thorn
Afterwards, you travel down leafy lanes visiting the old Cheshire villages whilst hearing about the history that grew up around the junctions of the intersecting roads in this part of Cheshire. These junctions were a natural meeting place for travellers and an ideal site for markets. Furthermore, the ‘Bawming’ ceremonies that have their roots in ancient Pagan worship as well. Enjoy the story of ‘The Appleton Thorn’, a fascinating tale which has been told many times over hundreds of years.
Lewis Carroll’s New Visitor Centre – Daresbury Church
The church has a large and unusual stained glass window commemorating Lewis Carroll and his famous book ‘Alice in Wonderland’; this is due to the fact that Lewis Carroll’s father was at one time the rector of the church. Enjoy tea and biscuits while you listen to the fascinating story of the history of Daresbury, the church building and the famous author Lewis Carroll.
