Suggested itinerary by coach
Day 1
Travel to the Swansea area
Use the impressive Severn Crossing and the M4, or perhaps take a more leisurely journey along the picturesque Heads of the Valleys road.
Day 2
Swansea, Mumbles and The Gower Peninsula
Enjoy the morning exploring Swansea’s bustling city centre. At the end of the morning the coach will take you along to the picturesque, Victorian seaside resort of Mumbles, now a cosy and cosmopolitan destination. After free time to explore the area, we head for the Gower Heritage Centre for an afternoon discovering all about the Gower peninsula, Britain’s first designated ‘Area of Outstanding Beauty.’ After time at the Heritage Centre, the coach will take you (with an option for a tour guide) around the peninsular, revealing ancient sites, monuments and castles.
Day 3
Tenby and the National Botanic Garden of Wales
We head west into Pembrokeshire to the pretty seaside resort and fishing port of Tenby. There’s time to explore the cobbled streets and perhaps enjoy some lunch overlooking the picturesque harbour. In the afternoon we visit the National Botanic Garden of Wales. Opened 25 years ago, the Garden is a fascinating blend of the modern and historic. At its heart is the Great Glasshouse, the world’s largest single-span glasshouse, a remarkable tilted glass dome designed by world-famous architects Norman Foster and Partners. Inside, a Mediterranean landscape is dominated by a six-metre deep ravine and rock terraces and sheer faces are cut by streams and waterfalls.
Day 4
Brecon Mountain Railway
Today, we chug and rumble along on a Steam train line to experience the landscape from the track starting from Pant station to Torpantau station and return. This journey takes you along the Pontsticill Reservoir adding to the ever changing vistas from your seat. The wooden seats on the carriages add to the experience!
Day 5
Return home
Return home with a choice of stop-offs on the way.
