RAF Scampton Heritage Centre and Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Centre

RAF Scampton is home to the Red Arrows and the base of 617 Squadron, the ‘Dambusters’. We visit the Heritage Centre that tells the remarkable story of Squadron Leader Guy Gibson. There may also be an opportunity to sit in a replica Red Arrows Hawk aircraft. In the afternoon we travel to the Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Museum, home to one of only three remaining Avro Lancaster bombers.

RAF Scampton have a therefore have a strict photo ID policy. Nationality and full names are required prior to arrival. All bags must be left on the coach and plastic bags are provided for valuables. No photography is allowed.

International Bomber Command Centre & Lincoln

This morning we visit the newly opened International Bomber Command Centre, a world-class facility acknowledging the efforts, sacrifices and commitments of the men and women who came together in Bomber Command during WWII. Enjoy a guided tour of the Peace Garden and Memorial Spire and Wall, and then spend time in the Chadwick Centre to learn more through the interactive galleries and exhibitions. There is a large café onsite for lunch – pre-booked lunches are available at a supplement. We finish our tour with an afternoon in the historic city of Lincoln where you admire the beauty of Lincoln Cathedral, a fine example of English Gothic architecture.
