Our Shakespeare on the South Bank package, which is valid throughout 2026 & 2027, will include a 2 night stay in the hotel with breakfast. There will be a guided tour of Southwark Cathedral. You will also visit Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre and have a guided tour The expert guide-storytellers will provide your group with a fascinating tour of the Globe Theatre auditorium, vividly recreating colourful stories of the 1599 Playhouse, the London Shakespeare would have known and the Globe reconstruction process in the 1990s.and there will also be time to visit Borough market or the British Museum.
During your evenings we can arrange group meals or maybe take in a West End show or a dinner cruise on the River Thames.

Day 1
Arrival in London and a free evening
Arrive in London during the afternoon. Your room will be ready from around 3.00pm, so if arriving earlier, why not do a spot of sightseeing in Central London.
The afternoon and evening are at your leisure, so why not take advantage of some of our suggested activities. We can arrange an evening on the Thames – the London dinner cruise runs most evenings, with dinner, drinks and entertainment or maybe an evening at the Theatre.

Day 2
Southwark Cathedral, Bankside and Shakespeare’s Globe
There will be an English breakfast served in the hotel. Then it’s off to the Southbank where you will meet with your local guide. Your first visit will be to Southwark Cathedral. The Cathedral and Collegiate Church of St Saviour and St Mary Overie stands at the oldest crossing point of the tidal River Thames, at what was for centuries the only entrance to the City of London situated across the river.
It is believed that the origins go back to the 7th century when a community of nuns set up an order, to be replaced by a college of priests in the 9th century, the first written reference to the Church is the mention of a “minister” in the Domesday Book of 1086.
St Saviours Church became Southwark Cathedral in 1906, and serves a population of 2.2 million people, served by over 300 parishes. Your guided tour of the Cathedral will include Harvard Chapel and Pugin Tabernacle, The High Alter Screen, the Diamond Jubilee Window, the Shakespeare Memorial and Window, the Herb Garden and the Archaeological Chamber.
Your guide will then continue the tour with a walk along Bankside wandering the Riverside Streets to the sites of the Globe & Rose Theatres (you can take the walk before the Cathedral visit if you wish).
After your tour, there is chance for some lunch before a visit and guided tour to Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre.
The expert guide-storytellers will provide your group with a fascinating tour of the Globe Theatre auditorium, vividly recreating colourful stories of the 1599 Playhouse, the London Shakespeare would have known and the Globe reconstruction process in the 1990s.
The guides will also bring the theatre to life, exploring how the wooden ‘O’ works today as an imaginative and experimental space for performance.
You’ll also have the opportunity to explore the brand-new, walk-through exhibition space. Immerse your group in the sights, sounds, and secrets of Shakespeare’s London, travelling through over 400 years of fascinating history.

Day 3
Borough Market / British Museum & Return Home
Breakfast in your hotel then some free time to explore
The British Museum is really close to the hotels, You will come face-to-face with objects from the Sutton Hoo ship burial, explore the wonderful collection of the Islamic World and learn more about Egyptian mummies.
Alternatively visit Borough market, located right in the heart of London, Borough Market is one of the best known produce and street food markets around. Open six days a week, the food market’s atmospheric halls and passageways are a pleasure to explore.
Leave London at your leisure and return home
