Back in Davos, and again using the Davos Card (for free), take the local train to nearby Klosters, a renowned world-famous ski resort and a favourite of the Royal Family.  Despite this the town has remained authentic with pretty chalets and a village centre with boutiques, cafes and restaurants.  Return to Davos by train.

Dinner is at the hotel this evening.

Day 5

Medieval Chur and the Arosa Mountain Railway

Chur is the oldest city in Switzerland.  Take a stroll around the car-free cobblestoned streets admiring the medieval architecture. Between small alleyways, the castle, the cathedral and lively markets, it offers cozy cafes and many shops.   After some free time to explore and  lunch enjoy a scenic round trip journey along the Arosa line railway to Arosa. Starting at a leisurely pace, as a tram, the train meanders through the streets of Chur passing the city walls, the Maltese Tower and the Upper Gate when the red train turns into a mountain railway steeply ascending through mountain landscapes and crossing the famous Langwieser viaduct high above the river Plessur before arriving at Arosa and making the return journey down to Chur where the coach will be waiting. (The railway journey takes approximately 1 hour each way).

Return to the hotel by coach for dinner and an evening at leisure.

Day 6

Chic St. Moritz and Albula Railway Museum

St. Moritz really needs no introduction – an elegant and glamorous lakeside resort world-renowned mainly for its winter sports and the famous Cresta Bob Sleigh run plus the fact that it is the sunniest resort in Switzerland.  Shopping is a favourite pastime and a visit to the Segantini Museum, perched on a small hill at the entrance to the town, is also worthwhile (entrance payable locally)

From here, drive to the picturesque village of Bergün and visit the Albula Railway Museum to learn about the history of the Rhaetian Railway with over 600 exhibits and more than 100 years of railway history including how the spiral tunnels and viaducts were constructed. See layouts, models, historical plans and documents that tell the story of how the Albula line was built.

Return to Davos with free time to relax and perhaps explore the town further before dinner at the hotel this evening.

Depart Switzerland

Depart after breakfast for the homeward journey travelling north towards the Reims/Metz area of France for an overnight stay.  Dinner is included at the hotel.
