Geography
“Geography explains the past, illuminates the present and prepares us for the future. What could be more important than that?”
A classic example of “hands on” fieldwork very suitable for GCSE and A level geographers and one of the Peak Districts most popular days lasting about 5 ½ hours is the Hydrology and Fluvial Geomorphology Study. This will allow students to conduct a detailed field study of an upland river catchment at up to three sites, using field equipment such as impellors, clinometers and floats, which leads to an understanding of past and present geomorphological processes.
If you fancy somewhere warmer then the Costa Brava’s beautiful landscape with sandy beaches, rocky headlands, narrow inlets and many interesting islands are all ripe for exploration. This amazing and varied coastline is home to the vibrant city of Barcelona a popular tourist destination. Students will have access to the volcanic Garrotxa National Park and the multi-peaked Montserrat.
