Three Countries Alpine Discovery
INCLUDING THE BERNINA EXPRESS
Based in the delightful Austrian village of Pfunds, this tour explores a charming corner of the Alps where three countries converge. Visit Innsbruck, the capital of the Tirol, and stroll past the pretty pastel buildings lining the river. The streets are full of beautiful buildings from the ornate Hofburg Palace and the iconic 16th-century Goldenes Dachl, the gold-clad roof and balcony, from where the nobility would address the townspeople. Should you wish to view Innsbruck from above, take the funicular to Hungerburg. At the top, take in the splendid panorama of this beautiful city surrounded by the Alps. Having hosted the Winter Olympics in 1976, Innsbruck is watching over by the Bergisel Ski Jump which is a prominent landmark in the city’s skyline. Visitors can access a viewing platform – look out and imagine you are a ski jumper about to jump!
A short excursion to the nearby town of Wattens takes you to the magical cave world of Swarovski. Here, local and international artists have designed a dazzling array of creations inspired by crystals. Explore the crystal forest, ‘Eden’, designed to celebrate the magnificence of nature.
During this tour, you will be surrounded by spectacular nature. Chugging through scenic landscape aboard the Ziller Valley Steam Railway en route to Mayrhofen is a particular highlight.
