Day 1
Travel to Ayrshire and your hotel
Day 2
Culzean Castle and the Robert Burns Birthplace Museum
A morning visit to Culzean Castle, one of Scotland’s most popular visitor attractions. A private tour will be followed by time to explore the extensive grounds. In the afternoon we visit the birthplace of the poet Robert ‘Robbie’ Burns. We’ll see the cottage where he was born, and the Brig o’ Doon, the original 15th century bridge which provided the setting for Tam o’ Shanter, one of Burns poems’.
Day 3
Isle of Arran, Brodick Castle and a whisky tasting
This morning we take the ferry from Troon to the Isle of Arran. Take a tour of the island, including a stop-off for lunch, brings us to Brodick Castle, Garden and Country Park. The interior of the imposing 800-year-old castle is renowned for its collections of period furniture, silverware, porcelain, paintings and sporting trophies. After time to explore the gardens we take the ferry back to Troon.
Day 4
Isle of Bute and Mount Stuart
Today we take the ferry to visit the delightful Isle of Bute. We visit Mount Stuart for a private tour of the 19th century country manor house, one of Scotland’s most spectacular Victorian Gothic mansions. After the tour there’s free time to explore some of the 300 acres of gloriously maintained grounds and gardens.
