There’s an opportunity to see the famous Clifton Suspension Bridge, Brunel’s SS Great Britain, Wells Cathedral and even sample some of the West Country’s most famous export, cheese!

Day 1

Day 2
Wells Cathedral and Cheddar Gorge with Cheese tasting
Today we enjoy a guided tour of the Gothic-style Wells cathedral, dating from the 12th century, and the adjacent Bishop’s Palace and the 14th century Vicars’ Close. After some free time for lunch, we take a scenic drive through Cheddar Gorge to the Cheddar Gorge Cheese company.
View their working dairy and learn about how they make their heritage cheese. There is an accompanying film which takes you through the entire 7-hour cheese making process whilst you watch the live action.
This is a self guided experience although members of staff will be happy to answer any questions you may have.
Day 3
Bristol – SS Great Britain & River Cruise with lunch
This morning, we take a drive over Brunel’s famous Clifton Suspension Bridge to the ship that changed the world, SS Great Britain (also built by Brunel). Visitors can experience what life was like for the ship’s Victorian passengers and crew. You can also learn more about the man himself at the brand new ‘Being Brunel’ Museum, which opened in April 2018.
This afternoon, we leave the city behind and enjoy a leisurely 2 hour cruise. Take in the sights and hear about Bristol’s rich maritime history as you cruise through the Floating Harbour on the original course of the Avon while enjoying a cream tea with all the trimmings.
