Be enchanted by Christmas at Beamish
Today we travel to Christmas past. Beamish museum is a living, working experience of life as it was in the great north in Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian times. Travel on the restored tramway to visit Pockerley Old Hall, The Town, Rowley Station, The Fairground, Home Farm and The Pit Village, all specially decorated for the festive season. This is definitely a full day visit. There are plenty of places for food and drink and many gift shops as well, you may even pick up a few Christmas presents!
Time permitting, be sure to visit Newcastle Christmas Markets, offering gourmet ingredients and a very real taste of Europe. You can get a currywurst from Germany, waffles from Holland, paella from Spain and crepes, both sweet and savoury from France.
