Liverpool is a world class tourist destination offering a real mix of culture and heritage. Along the coast, Southport is welcoming new visitors keen to experience the town’s burgeoning shopping culture and seaside activities. In this tour we visit both destinations. Experience nature close-up at WWT Martin Mere and then go ‘Iron Men’ spotting on Crosby beach.

Day 1

Day 2
Liverpool and Albert Dock
Today we head into Liverpool for a full day to explore this remarkable city. Albert Dock, situated in a spectacular riverside setting as part of Liverpool’s UNESCO designated World Heritage Site, is home to a number of award-winning visitor attractions, including the Tate Liverpool.
Why not make time to visit the Museum of Liverpool on the quayside at Pier Head, this museum is free of charge and provides a wealth of information about Liverpool and its history in permanent and temporary displays with immersive experiences. (Pre-booking is required for groups, please let us know if you wish to include this in your itinerary.)
A trip on one of the famous Mersey Ferries is a must, if only to look back on Liverpool’s spectacular waterfront in all its glory. (Supplement on request.)
Day 3
WWT Martin Mere, Southport and ‘Iron Men’ on Crosby beach
In the morning we travel to WWT Martin Mere, a wetland nature reserve. A guided tour will make your visit extra special. A 20-30 minute electric boat cruise through the wetlands for a peaceful and unusual tour is included.
After our time in the nature reserve at Martin Mere, we travel to Southport on the coast to discover Lord Street, a Victorian canopied boulevard with a charming unique style of its own. Don’t miss Wayfarers Shopping Arcade, a Grade II listed building opened in 1898 that boasts a stunning glass-domed roof, impressive period décor and more than 30 exclusive stores, and stroll along the UK’s second longest pier with a traditional penny arcade at the end.
In the afternoon, we drive south to Crosby beach to see a portion of Anthony Gormley’s world famous ‘Another Place’, 100 iron men sculptures that face towards the sea.

The hotel features the Vista Restaurant serving à la carte menus, there is a lounge and bar for your relaxation in the evenings If weather is fine, the open air terrace next to the bar where you have a view of the Pier Head. Each of the 225 rooms set over 12 floors have TV, air conditioning, tea and coffee making facilities and either shower over bath or shower only. There is a drop off area in front of the hotel for convenience.
