Day 1
Travel to North Wales.
Drive through the spectacular Welsh scenery to your hotel.
Day 2
Llandudno and the Great Orme and Plas Cadnant Hidden Gardens.
Today, enjoy some time in Llandudno, a seaside resort which has retained much of its Victorian charm. Here you have the option to ride the Great Orme Tramway (no pre-booking, payment on arrival). Visit Conwy, with its magnificent Edwardian Castle and quaint medieval streets and later, cross over the Menai Strait to Ynys Môn – the Isle of Anglesey and see Plas Cadnant Hidden Gardens, recently voted one of the nation’s favourite gardens.
Day 3
Ffestiniog Railway and Portmeirion
The Ffestiniog Railway is the oldest independent railway company in the world today. We travel from Porthmadog to the slate quarrying town of Blaenau Ffestiniog, travelling through pastures, villages, and the ancient wooded slopes of the valley side. In the afternoon, visit Sir Clough Williams-Ellis’ Italianate village and gardens at Portmeirion.
Day 4
Snowdon Mountain Railway and Caernarfon
Today, we travel over the spectacular Llanberis Pass for a train ride to the top of Snowdon, the highest mountain in Wales. Sit back and relax whilst being taken to the summit. On a fine day, there are spectacular views of the mountain range and they improve the higher you travel. Be sure to take plenty of photographs on the way and wave to the people hiking up the Llanberis path. The journey is over 2 hours with a short stop at the Welcome Centre at the summit. In the afternoon, we visit Caernarfon where there’s free time to explore the old town.
