Day 1

Travel to North Wales

Drive through the spectacular Welsh scenery to your hotel.

Day 2

Llandudno and the Great Orme and Plas Cadnant Hidden Gardens

Today, discover the highlights of the North Wales coast and countryside. Begin with a visit to Llandudno, the elegant Victorian seaside resort, where you can take the scenic Great Orme Tramway (no pre-booking required, payment on arrival). Continue to Conwy, home to its magnificent medieval castle and charming historic streets. Later, cross the Menai Strait to the Isle of Anglesey and explore the beautiful Plas Cadnant Hidden Gardens, recently recognised as one of the nation’s favourite gardens.

Day 3

Ffestiniog Railway and Portmeirion

Today, enjoy a scenic journey aboard the famous Ffestiniog Railway, the world’s oldest independent railway company. Travelling from Porthmadog to the historic slate-quarrying town of Blaenau Ffestiniog, the route winds through picturesque countryside, charming villages and ancient wooded valleys. This afternoon, visit the enchanting village and gardens of Portmeirion, the unique Italianate creation of Sir Clough Williams-Ellis, set against the stunning backdrop of the North Wales coast.

Day 4

Snowdon Mountain Railway and Caernarfon

Today, travel through the spectacular Llanberis Pass before boarding the train for an unforgettable journey to the summit of Snowdon, the highest mountain in Wales. Sit back and enjoy the breathtaking scenery as the train climbs towards the summit, with panoramic views across the surrounding mountains and countryside on a clear day. There will be plenty of opportunities for photographs along the way, as well as a short stop at the summit’s Welcome Centre. The return journey takes around two hours. This afternoon, continue to Caernarfon, where you’ll have free time to explore the historic old town at your leisure.

Return home
