Suggested itinerary by coach
Day 1
Depart the UK
Travel to Ireland by coach and ferry (alternatively fly from your local airport for an additional supplement – please enquire for further details). Depending on your starting point, you may need to book overnight stops. We would be delighted to assist you with this.
Settle into your hotel with a warm welcome including dinner and entertainment.
Day 2
Waterford City and Waterford Crystal
Today enjoy a guided walking tour of Waterford by Jack Burtchaell. Jack has been running walking tours of Waterford for decades and there isn’t much (if anything!), that he doesn’t know about his City. The tour can be adapted should there be rain. In the afternoon we visit the Waterford Crystal Visitor Centre, home of the world’s most famous crystal. This evening at the hotel we enjoy a traditional Irish buffet themed dinner, where we will meet a local Wexford supplier that will show us some local produce. This is followed by traditional Irish entertainment.
Day 3
Wicklow and Glendalough
County Wicklow is known as the ‘Garden of Ireland’. Nestled amongst the lush rolling hills are pretty little glens and cascading waterfalls. Today we visit Glendalough and the visitor centre with time for lunch and to enjoy the spectacular scenery. Return to your hotel for dinner and entertainment.
Day 4
Kilkenny and Dunbrody Famine Ship
Today, travel to the county town of Kilkenny this morning with time to explore. Later, visit the fascinating Dunbrody Famine Ship, an authentic replica of a 19th century famine ship which carried passengers across the Atlantic. Actors will share their stories as they perform role play to their passengers. Enjoy your final evening in the hotel with dinner and entertainment.
Day 5
Return to the UK
After breakfast start your journey home by coach and ferry (or fly to your local airport).
