Travel to Lincolnshire
Travel to Lincolnshire. You may wish to spend the afternoon at the National Trust Belton Estate as a welcome stop off on your journey to Lincolnshire. Its library, collections of art and formal gardens are just some of our top tips to visit.
Day 2
Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Centre and We’ll Meet Again Museum
In the morning, we travel to the Lincolnshire Heritage Museum, home to one of the only three remaining Avro Lancaster bombers. We then travel onto the We’ll Meet again Museum. There are Homefront exhibits including a typical ‘shop’ counter of the period. Elsewhere, there are Women’s Land Army artefacts, nurse uniforms, children’s toys and equipment used in the home at that time from mangles to mincers. The Anderson Shelter and blitz experience are not to be missed. To complete your visit, 1940s fashions are on show and items that some visitors will see and say, “I remember those!” Included in the visit is a tea or coffee and a slice of cake.
Day 3
Lincoln and Hemswell Antiques and Collectables Centre
This morning, we spend time in the historic city of Lincoln where you can admire the beauty of Lincoln Cathedral, a fine example of English Gothic architecture. After all that perusing there is a licensed coffee shop for a well-earned cuppa!
