Rock of Cashel and Waterford & Suir Valley Railway

After breakfast and fond farewells at Treacy’s West County, we travel via Tipperary to the impressive Rock of Cashel, before enjoying a scenic journey on the Waterford & Suir Valley Railway. Running alongside the River Suir, the 40-minute trip offers panoramic views of the river, rolling countryside and distant mountains. With an open-air carriage, wrap up warm and enjoy this charming railway experience. We then continue to Treacy’s Hotel in Waterford to freshen up, relax and enjoy our evening meal.

Today is a relaxed day in Waterford as our driver enjoys a well-earned rest day. Discover Ireland’s oldest city on a guided walking tour, uncovering its fascinating Viking and medieval heritage. There’s also the option to visit the famous Waterford Crystal Visitor Centre (additional cost), followed by free time to browse the Heritage Quarter’s museums, shops and cafés. New Ross, Dunbrody Famine Ship

After breakfast, we leave Treacy’s Hotel in Waterford and head to New Ross, where we step aboard the Dunbrody Famine Ship, an authentic replica that brings the story of 19th-century Irish emigration vividly to life. Explore the ship, imagine life aboard and picture sailors high in the rigging—remember to wrap up, as parts of the experience are outdoors.
