Day 1
Travel to your hotel via Port Sunlight
This afternoon we visit Port Sunlight, a garden village built by ‘Soap King’ William Hesketh Lever to house the workers from his ‘Sunlight Soap’ factory. Included is a 45-minute visit to the fascinating Port Sunlight Museum followed by a one-hour guided tour of the village by coach. Travel to our hotel for dinner.
Day 2
Liverpool and Albert Dock
Today we head into Liverpool for a full day to explore this remarkable city. Albert Dock, situated in a spectacular riverside setting as part of Liverpool’s UNESCO designated World Heritage Site, is home to a number of award-winning visitor attractions, including the Merseyside Maritime Museum and Tate Liverpool. A trip on one of the famous Mersey Ferries is a must, if only to see Liverpool’s spectacular waterfront in all its glory (supplement on request).
Day 3
Chester and return home
This morning we visit the historic city of Chester. The morning is free to explore all that the city has to offer. Don’t miss ‘The Rows’, the 700-year-old, two-tiered shopping galleries with an array of independent and high street names.
