Longleat Safari, House and Gardens
Today we take a leisurely drive through the Wiltshire countryside to visit Longleat, home to the 7th Marquess of Bath. Our visit begins as the coach drives through the famous safari park, where you may well see the renowned Longleat lions. We then visit Longleat House, widely regarded as one of the best examples of high Elizabethan architecture in Britain. Completed by Sir John Thynne in 1580, the house was visited by Elizabeth I in 1574. After the house there’s time to explore the magnificent gardens that were created by Lancelot ‘Capability’ Brown, or perhaps take your chance in the famous Hedge Maze, the biggest in Britain, and made up of more than 16,000 English yew trees.
Bath and Bradford on Avon
Assuming everyone found their way out of the maze, today we travel to Bradford on Avon, an architectural treasure chest with tiny weavers’ cottages, grand clothiers’ house, handsome buildings and ancient alleyways. In the afternoon we visit Bath, undoubtedly one of the most beautiful cities in the world. Nourished by hot springs, Bath offers stunning architecture, iconic attractions and great shopping.
