Welcome to the Kingdom of Morocco!

Explore vibrant Marrakech; bursting with history and culture. Meander through the labyrinth of the Medina, mesmerised by the beauty of Moorish design. Hand-woven rugs and leathers of every shade create a whirlwind of colour while the pyramids of bright spices cause delicious scents to drift through the winding streets. Also, visit El Bahia palace and the Jewish quarter.

Be entertained in Djemaa El Fna, one of Africa’s busiest squares. A veritable carnival of fortune-tellers and acrobats, belly dancers, snake bewitchers and musicians. Cheeky young men persuade you to dine at their establishment whilst billows of smoke spiralling into the air from food carts. Experience the local cuisine by trying a tagine, mint tea or authentic Moroccan couscous.

Beyond the city see the snow-capped Atlas Mountains and be awed by the great Kasbahs towering over the landscape. These fortresses are reminiscent of a mystical past, conjuring images of merchants crossing the desert on camel and sleeping in caravanserais. Morocco is a land of mystery and beauty – be swept away by the magic of Marrakech.

Suggested Itinerary by Air

Day 1

Arrival in Marrakech

Fly from your chosen UK airport to Marrakech, The Red City. A coach will transfer you from Marrakech airport to your hotel. Have dinner at leisure, perhaps wander into the medina and try some local cuisine.

Day 2

Marrakech

After breakfast at your hotel, soak up the atmosphere of Marrakech on a guided tour. Visit El Bahia palace, which is a haphazard arrangement of luxury apartments opening on to inner courtyards.  Marvel at the Moorish design and intricate marquetry. Explore the Mellah – the old Jewish quarter – before entering the winding streets of the medina. The medina’s souks are a riot of colour, noise and activity. Artisans can be seen weaving carpets, hammering copper or gilding leather. The ominously named Assembly of Death (Djemaa El Fna Square) no longer hosts public executions, but is a popular meeting place buzzing with entertainment including Berber musicians, acrobats and snake charmers.

Day 3

Day Trip to Atlas Mountains

Enjoy breakfast in your hotel before an excursion to the Atlas Mountains. Travel south from Marrakech through villages and past Kasbahs, witnessing the local way of life. Visit the dam on the stunning Lalla Takerkoust lake and enjoy a panoramic view. As you return towards Marrakech, be welcomed into a Berber family home for tea. The women will demonstrate how to prepare bread and a Berber tagine, allowing you to encounter something of their daily lives. Arrive back in Marrakech by approximately 4pm, allowing you time to enjoy your dinner at leisure in Marrakech.

Day 4

Marrakech

After breakfast at your hotel, spend a day at leisure exploring Marrakech. Perhaps visit a traditional Hammam or enjoy the beauty and tranquillity of the Jardin Majorelle. At the garden’s heart is the Berber museum, which features and celebrates the culture and creations of the Berber people; the regional dress display is especially breathtaking.

Day 5

Depart Marrakech

Following breakfast your guide will assist you in transferring by coach to Marrakech airport for your return flight to the UK.
