On this three-night break, discover Victorian and 20th century engineering and technical marvels as we take a cruise on the majestic Manchester Ship Canal and step on board Concorde. On the way, there’s time to explore the delightful 18th century Tatton Park.

Manchester Ship Canal Cruise
Set sail from Liverpool and travel along the captivating Manchester Ship Canal to the historic Latchford Locks and back, giving you the opportunity to experience a round-trip in the same day!
Relax as you travel under bridges mostly unchanged since they were built over 125 years ago and experience the rich legacy of Victorian architecture and engineering masterpieces like the Grade II listed Runcorn Rail Bridge and the Latchford High Level Bridge.
At Latchford Locks the ferry will turn and start the return journey back to Liverpool and Wirral. As you sail back along the canal, through Eastham Locks into the River Mersey, you will get a breath-taking view of the Mersey Estuary and Liverpool’s world famous waterfront in the distance. Enjoy the incredible panoramic views of the stunning coastline, Liverpool’s famous skyline and historic buildings.
To make your journey even more enjoyable, on board you’ll learn about the history of the canal and landmarks from a Blue Badge Guide’s live commentary. There is licensed bar and servery are also available on board, selling refreshments and snacks throughout the cruise.
Day 3
Concorde and and Tatton Park
Concorde G-BOAC, the pride of British Airways’ supersonic fleet, is displayed in a purpose-built hangar at Manchester Airport. Our morning visit gives you the opportunity to visit the flight deck and cabin.
On the journey to your hotel, stop off at Tatton Park. This imposing 18th century house sits within a landscaped deer park and is opulently decorated with a grand array of antiques and furniture. The theme of Victorian grandeur extends outside with an Orangery, Rose Garden and Italian and Japanese gardens providing year-round colour and more than 200 years of garden design and history.
