Discover Milan; Italy’s fashion capital, financial powerhouse and most vibrant city.

Located in the Northern Italy, in the Lombardy region, a short distance from the magnificent Lakes, the city is a hub of vibrancy and innovation. The stunning Alps loom in the background of the city’s rationalist architecture. Thus, providing an an incomparable skyline of conflicting; old and new, natural and man-made. A perfect metaphor for a city of exquisite contradictions.

The splendid Duomo Cathedral is one of the city’s most iconic sights and the Piazza in front is classed as the heart of Milan. The ornate façade impresses from afar, whereas the interior is a sight to behold! In the Crypt, see the remains of the Roman temple on the same site. Think of Milan and think of fashion. Home to Italy’s most renowned clothes houses, the designer names abound – Gucci, Dolce and Gabanna, Versace, Valentino to name but a few. The outstanding glass-domed Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, opposite the Duomo, is Milan’s imposing cathedral to fashion. Equally, you cannot leave without a walk down Via Montenapoleone. Today, it houses a collection of museums and Michelangelo’s last piece of artwork. Milan’s Roman past can be seen with many remains and ruins around the town. La Scala, dating from the 1780s, is one of the world’s best known Opera Houses and played host to Italy’s great composers like Puccini, Verdi and opera singers including Pavarotti. Milano Centrale station’s stunning architecture tells of Milan’s importance in the history of Italy and Europe.

This tour allows you to indulge in all these aspects that have shaped the fascinating cultural history of this city. There are sights and attractions for all, a great location for a city break at any time of year. Why not extend your stay with a trip to Genoa as well.
