Visit the Netherlands and Bruges in one trip!
A great easy-pace coach tour combining visits to two of the most popular short break destinations in Europe. Visit the world famous Keukenhof Gardens with its splendid display of brightly coloured tulips and flowers. See Delft Blue pottery being hand painted and visit the charming Dutch cheese town of Delft with its medieval town hall and cheese museum. Stop in romantic Bruges for some wonderful sightseeing and exploring.

Day 1
Depart the UK
Afternoon we take a short sea crossing from Dover and travel to Lille where we check in to our overnight hotel in time for dinner.
Day 2
Waffles and Cheese in Gouda City
A morning drive through Belgium before arriving in the charming Dutch city of Gouda, famous for its namesake cheese and seasonal cheese market which is regularly held in the medieval market square with is 15th century town hall. We enjoy a city walking tour, cheese tasting and a visit to local waffle factory for coffee and tasting. Perhaps take an optional canal cruise or visit the cheese museum located in the former weigh house. Continue onwards to our hotel for next 2 nights.
Day 3
Keukenhof Gardens and Royal Delft Pottery
Visit the famous Keukenhof Gardens to see the world’s finest bulbfields and flower parks. Keukenhof was once a modest kitchen and herb garden for the Dutch Royal House. Today, however, each year between March and May, seven million bulbs planted across the park’s 70 acres burst into bloom. Visitors enjoy a spectacular rainbow carpet of flowers. For over 50 years Keukenhof has been displaying its floral art with a different theme each year and a fresh look.
Afternoon, optional visit to the factory museum of Royal Delft Blue pottery, experience the beauty of Delft Blue pottery in the original 400 year old factory and see pottery in production, Admire the craftsmanship and watch the hand painting techniques as artists paint the high quality Delft pottery.
Day 4
Romantic Bruges
After breakfast depart Holland and travel south to Bruges where we have free time exploring this historic city with its cobbled street and canals. A good starting point is the Grote Markt, the main square in the centre of Bruges bounded by colourful, ornate, historic gabled-housed buildings. Perhaps enjoy a sightseeing boat cruise to see the sights from a different angle to admire the many waterways that give the city the nick name of ‘Venice of the North’. After we continue on to Lille or Kortrijk for our final overnight stop.
Day 5
Return to the UK
After our final breakfast depart and take a short see crossing to Dover and return home.

Novotel Rotterdam Brainpark
4 star hotel is located in a pleasant office park to the north of Rotterdam. Newly refurbished bedrooms, lift to all floors, breakfast buffet, dinner restaurant and bar. Coach parking is available directly outside the hotel at a small fee.
Van Der Valk Avifauna
This hotel is located in large grounds that include a wonderful bird park, close to the river. The hotel has a large bar with a large outdoor balcony overlooking the bird park. There is Lift to all floors, 96 bedrooms including some ground floor rooms with balconies. All rooms have separate showers and baths and tea and coffee making facilities. The hotel has two restaurants located within in the hotel grounds and two restaurant ships available for either lunch or dinner cruises. Free coach parking is available.
The Old Dutch Hotel, Volendam ***
Family run hotel, located on the waterfront in the centre of pedestrian old Volendam. All 32 newly refurbished bedrooms are equipped with safe, telephone, TV, WC and shower. The hotel’s restaurant offers typical Dutch and international cuisine. In summer months, guests can sit outside on the hotel’s terrace overlooking the lake. Free parking at the public coach park, passengers and luggage disembark 100m from the hotel and the hotel provides a luggage service.
