4 day tour
From £327 per person - minimum 20 passengers

With 31 university colleges and some of England’s grandest architecture, it’s no wonder Cambridge remains such a popular destination. We embark upon a walking tour of the city and take in the sights including King’s College, the Corpus Clock, and The Eagle which is synonymous with Watson’s and Crick’s discovery of DNA. We also discover a world of horse racing and breeding at the National Stud in Newmarket, and spend time in the historic town of Ely.

Day 2

A full day to discover Cambridge

After breakfast we meet our local guide who will take us on a walking tour of the historic city centre. Cambridge is best known for its university. The 31 colleges dominate the city centre with beautiful cobbled courts, chapels, gardens and bridges. There’s an opportunity to go behind the gates of some of the colleges*. After a two-course lunch (included) we board our coach with our guide to discover more of the local area, including the Cambridge American Cemetery at Madingley where nearly 4,000 US service personnel are buried.

Day 3

Newmarket and Ely

This morning we travel to Newmarket, regarded by many as the ‘Capital of Horseracing’. Our first stop is at the National Stud for a behind the scenes look at a working thoroughbred stud farm. Groups may also wish to visit new attraction ‘Palace House’ The national horse racing museum*. There’s free time in the town itself for shopping and lunch before we drive the short distance to Ely. Full of charm and beauty the town’s main attraction is Ely Cathedral, undoubtedly one of the most magnificent cathedrals in England. It’s known locally as the ‘Ship of the Fens’ because of its prominent position above the surrounding flat landscape.
