Suggested itinerary by coach
Day 1
Travel to your hotel in Cornwall
If time permits, why not stop off on the journey, perhaps at Jamaica Inn on Bodmin Moor. The Greatdays team can offer suggestions.
Day 2
Land’s End and St Ives
This morning we take a leisurely journey south west to Land’s End. Take a stroll along the family-friendly paths above cliffs carved out by the Atlantic Ocean, and visit the ‘End to End’ exhibition that tells the stories of some of those who made the 838 mile journey to or from John O’Groats. We then travel to St Ives, one of Cornwall’s most popular seaside destinations. There’s free time to lose yourself in the maze of narrow, cobbled streets and alleyways, and spend time down by the harbour beach. Don’t miss the Tate St Ives and the Barbara Hepworth Museum and Sculpture Garden where work by the leading 20th century artists from this country is exhibited in tranquil gardens.
Day 3
Free day in Newquay
Time to really relax with a free day in Newquay. This laid-back resort offers a mix of beautiful beaches, cliff-top views and seafront shops.
Day 4
Padstow, Tintagel Castle and Boscastle
Today we travel up the Atlantic coast to the pretty fishing town of Padstow. The colourful working harbour sits among pastel washed medieval houses. We continue along the coast before arriving at Tintagel Castle, a place inextricably linked with the legend of King Arthur. Our final stop is the village of Boscastle, a picturesque natural harbour and village, mostly owned by the National Trust. The Elizabethan quay sits in an impressive amphitheatre of steep cliffs and is home to quaint stone-built cottages, shops and tea-rooms.
Day 5
Return home, or stay another night
After an enjoyable breakfast check out of the hotel and return home. Alternatively, spend one last day enjoying the stunning beaches and scenery, before returning home the following day.
