Day 1
Travel to North Wales

Day 2
Plas Newydd and Plas Cadnant Hidden Gardens
Today we travel across the Menai Strait to the island of Anglesey. There’s time to discover the enchanting mansion and gardens of Plas Newydd, with spectacular views across the Straight to Snowdonia. In the afternoon we ‘find’ Plas Cadnant Hidden Gardens, a remarkable garden recently brought back to life.
Day 3
Caernarfon, Llanberis Pass and Snowdon Mountain Railway
A free morning to explore Caernarfon and its impressive castle, used for the investiture of the Prince of Wales, first in 1911, and again in 1969. In the afternoon we take a scenic journey across the majestic and unforgettable Llanberis Pass to Llanberis where we join the Snowdon Mountain Railway for a memorable train ride to the top of Wales’ highest mountain.
Day 4
The Welsh Highland Railway and Portmeirion
We take the narrow gauge, steam-hauled Welsh Highland Railway for a 25-mile journey from Caernarfon to Porthmadog through the stunning Aberglaslyn Pass. On arrival in Porthmadog we rejoin our coach for the short journey to the unique and altogether magnificent Italianate village of Portmeirion. On the journey back to your hotel, stop at the Inigo Jones Slate Workshop where there’ll be time to buy locally-crafted gifts.
