Discover the mighty River Seine during this relaxing 4 night cruise, sailing from France’s glittering capital city, Paris, to the delightful port of Honfleur on the Normandy coast.  En route, pass through beautiful French countryside and stop in charming towns. You have the chance to visit the iconic Versailles Palace with its splendid gardens. Another wonderful stop is in Rouen, This town is bursting with history and where you can stroll among timbered houses and soak up the town’s atmosphere.  Between experiencing beautiful Norman towns, you can enjoy impressive landscapes from comfort of the ship.

Begin your Seine River Cruise voyage in Paris, where the crew will welcome you aboard the light, spacious ship with a cocktail. Enjoy a full buffet style breakfast each morning, rich 3 course lunches and exquisite dinners. Furthermore, your drinks on board are included! One evening there will be a special gala dinner, giving you the chance to dress to impress and indulge in a little glamour. Entertainment such as quizzes and local music is provided each night.

Suggested Itinerary

Day 1

Depart the UK

Drive to Dover and take the ferry across to Calais or Dunkerque.  After disembarkation, continue the journey to Paris in time for boarding at 18.00 hours.  After comfortably settling into your cabins, the crew will be introduced by the Captain at a welcome cocktail before dinner. The evening is free to do as you please.

If water levels permit, there may be a cruise through the illuminated city ‘Paris by Night’.

Day 2

Poissy – Mantes-La-Jolie (for Palace of Versailles)

There will be two optional excursions to the Palace of Versailles.  Either:-

Since 1979, the Palace of Versailles has been listed as a World Heritage and is one of the greatest achievements in French 17th century art. Today the Palace contains 2,300 rooms some of which will be explored on your visit.  When you arrive, your guide will take you through the King’s Grand Apartment (comprising of 7 rooms),  the Hall of Mirrors, a 75m-long, 10m-wide and 12m-high hall with 17 mirror-clad arches that reflect the seventeen arcaded windows that overlook the gardens and the tour will end with a visit to the Queen’s Apartments.  After visiting the Château, you will still have a little free time to discover the fabulous formal French gardens.

Discovery Tour:  Gardens of the Palace

A tour of the Versailles Gardens which cover nearly 2,014 acres and feature 50 fountains, 620 water jets, and hundreds of sculptures and statues.  A true jewel in the crown of the Palace of Versailles, these gardens are a display of extraordinary scenic beauty  shaped by the hands of artists and gardeners in the service of King Louis XIV.  See water features and sculptures that adorn every corner and wander along many of the secret paths.

(Both tours are subject to minimum numbers and on Mondays will be replaced by a visit to Château de Malmaison)

After returning to the ship, the cruise will continue towards Honfleur whilst enjoying dinner and an evening at leisure.

Day 3

Honfleur Sightseeing

Join an optional tour of the charming fishing port of Honfleur, a town located at the mouth of the River Seine where it flows into the English Channel. Perhaps discover the Côte Fleurie and taste the famous Calvados apple brandy. Why not explore the Vieux Bassin? In this charming part of the city, narrow houses squeeze together along the harbour.  There will be two optional walking tours available this afternooon, one is a stroll along the Alabaster Coast and, for the more energetic a hike across the cliffs of Etretat.

Rejoin the ship for dinner whilst sailing towards Rouen.

 

Day 4

Rouen  – Paris

Join an optional guided walking tour of the charming town of Rouen, where Joan of Arc was tried and burned. See the impressive Cathedral Notre-Dame which has the highest spire in France and the medieval quarter is beautiful. See the Gros Horloge (Great Clock), which is one of the most emblematic monuments in the city. Return to the ship for lunch whilst it sails through stunning landscapes.  An authetic ‘guingette’ (18th century outdoor cafe) will be set up on board which will recreate the atmosphere of ‘Sundays on the banks of the Marne’.

Tonight is our final evening on board and we will enjoy a Gala Dinner and entertainment.

Day 5

Paris – Return to the UK

Enjoy one last buffet breakfast on board before disembarkation in Paris.  Perhaps enjoy some free time in Paris before travelling back to Calais or Dunkerque and the ferry across to the UK, and home


MS Botticelli (or similar standard class ship)

Named after the Italian painter Sandro Botticelli, one of the great masters of the Renaissance, this elegant standard ship sails on the Seine.  Completely renovated in 2016, the MS Botticelli is a standard ship that measures 110m long and 11,40m wide and can accommodate 149 passengers in 75 cabins on 2 decks. The size of a cabin is between 10m2 to 11,50m2, offering amenities and providing guests with all the comforts they need during their stay. The shades of taupe and beige, enhanced with emerald green, as well as the golden touches of the cabins and the precious fabrics of Venice, provide an elegant and cosy atmosphere. Located on the upper deck, the restaurant, where all meals are served during the cruise, offers fine cuisine in a refined setting, where large windows allow guests to fully enjoy the panorama. Also situated on the upper deck is the lounge / bar with a dance floor. Comfortable sun loungers are provided on the sun deck with a large shaded area, the ideal place to relax and admire the surrounding landscapes.  Both French and English are spoken by the crew.

Other similar standard ships used for this package include MS RENOIR and MS SEINE PRINCESS.  Your ship will be advised at time of booking.

Cabin information/facilities 

All cabins are located above the water level and offer panoramic views of the landscape.  They are equipped with private toilet, shower, washbasin and towels.  Cabins are comfortable and include Satellite TV, hairdryer, safe and storage space.  Depending on the boat, cabins have twin beds, a large bed or 2 separable beds.  Voltage on board in 220V.  All cabins are air conditioned and have independent thermostat controlled heating and air conditioning.  The size and configuration of cabins vary from boat to boat. Some boats have cabins which are specifically equipped for people with reduced mobility (please ask for further details). There is free Wi-Fi throughout the ship.
