Aberdeen is looking forward to welcoming the Tall Ships Races back in July 2025. Hundreds of thousands of people will descend on the city for four days of celebrating, sharing culture, and international friendships at Europe’s largest free family event.
The event will take place from 19th July to 22nd July and there will be numerous activities and attractions around the city for everyone to enjoy, absorbing visitors in a festival of culture that celebrates both the city’s maritime heritage and cultural renaissance.
The event promises to be a spectacle from start to finish. The ships will be open for free public access at set times.

Travel to your hotel
Arrive at your hotel in time to relax before dinner. We would be delighted to suggest some attractions to visit en-route to your hotel such as Aberdeen Maritime Museum or one of the many Aberdeenshire castles.
Monday
Tall Ships
Spend the day at the Tall Ships event viewing the ships as they are docked in the Port of Aberdeen. The city has a long and dramatic relationship with the sea – from the earliest days of trading, fishing and shipbuilding, to offshore energy.
More than 60 ships are expected to begin arriving from Saturday 19th July and these magnificent vessels are expected to attract hundreds of thousands of spectators to the city over the four day event.
