Day 1
Depart the UK
Take the afternoon ferry crossing from Holyhead to Dublin, then a short drive to your hotel in time for dinner.
Day 2
Wicklow, Glendalough and Mount Usher Gardens
Time in the ‘Garden of Ireland’ today, nestled amongst lush rolling hills and pretty glens with cascading waterfalls, here we visit the famous Mount Usher Gardens.
Day 3
Waterford City and Waterford Crystal
(Coach driver’s rest day)
Enjoy a guided walking tour of Waterford, visit Waterford Crystal for a guided factory tour. Free time this afternoon.
Day 4
Heritage Railway and Congreve House & Gardens
Ride on the delightful Waterford & Suir Valley Railway. We also visit the newly renovated Mount Congreve House and Garden built in 1760 by the local architect John Roberts.
Day 5
Kilkenny and the Butler Castle
A full day to explore the medieval city of Kilkenny, including a city sightseeing tour aboard the Kilkenny Road Train and visit to Kilkenny Butler Castle. Finally call in at the Nicholas Mosse Pottery Mill to see the potters and decorators at work.
Day 6
Dunbrody Famine Ship and Ros Tapestry
Visit an authentic reproduction of the ‘Dunbrody’, a 1840s emigrant vessel providing
a unique insight into the bravery and fortitude of the Irish people
during the great famine. Afternoon visit to the Ros Tapestry, see 15
huge embroidered panels by local volunteers. Continue to Dublin for our final night.
Day 7
Return to the UK
After an early breakfast, take the ferry and return home.
